Not to be outdone by the Canadian Rockies, the Canadian Badlands have their own wonders to offer. Aptly named by early French Explorers as ‘bad lands to cross’, the plains consist of layers of sedimentary rocks that stretch from Drumheller, Alberta to the Saskatchewan border in the east and to United States in the south. The Canadian Badlands are also known to host one of the largest dinosaur bone deposits in the world! This will be a geology centric tour and will focus on how the natural elements have shaped the landscape over the last 100 million years. The highlight stops for the tour will include the Hoodoos development, Horseshoe Canyon, and Dinosaur Trail and Midland Provincial Park.

The tour will depart from Hyatt Regency at 8am sharp and we will aim to be back at the hotel by 6pm, depending on the traffic. Bagged lunch will be provided for tour participants. The tour will proceed rain or shine so please dress for the weather and sturdy hiking shoes are strongly recommended. PPE requirements, if any, will be communicated closer to the date. A detailed itinerary will be provided closer to the tour date and may change depending on site accessibility and weather conditions.
